What to do in a Gas Emergency

Can you smell gas in your home?

Are you noticing any signs of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning?

Are there any warning signs around your appliance such as dark char marks?

If any of the above apply, then please follow the below;-

  1. Open all doors and windows in your home to ventilate the room, get as much fresh air into the house as you can, as quick as you can
  2. Switch off any appliance concerned and do not reuse until it has been tested by a registered Gas Safe Engineer
  3. Shut off the gas supply in your home at the mains
  4. Call the relevant Gas Safety number (some helpful numbers below)
  5. If you believe you may have carbon monoxide poisoning contact your doctor or local hospital and seek urgent advice
  6. Contact a Gas Safe registered engineer to do the relevant repairs to the appliances in your home
