Boiler Installations

Hook Gas Services Ltd will install many makes and types of gas boilers. There are many types of boilers on the market and sometimes customers find it difficult to choose which is suitable for their home. A top tip would be to match the size of the boiler to the size of your home. If the boiler is too small it will not keep the whole house warm enough in the winter. If it’s too big, you will only be wasting energy.

We install all types of boilers such as, conventional boilers, system gas boilers and combination gas boilers (combi boilers). Contact Us for your home survey to discuss which type is most suitable for you and your property. All our engineers are Gas Safe registered and have experience in fitting all types of boilers.

Installing your new central heating system involves many parts, from the radiators, thermostatic radiator valves, piping, gas supply, boiler and timer. We regularly get calls to install new radiators, valves and gas boilers, or convert old conventional system gas boilers to a modern combination boiler.

Combination Boilers
Many of UK householders have already recognised that a combination energy efficient gas boiler provides all the heating and hot water in one small combined space. This means that you will not need a hot water cylinder or a water tank in your loft. This can be useful in a small property, where space is at a premium. A combination boiler heats directly from the cold water mains to give you instant hot and cold water at mains pressure. With a combi system you can have a really effective shower without needing a ‘Power Shower’ pump. As well as providing central heating water into the radiators, a combination gas boiler provides all of the domestic water for baths, sinks and showers.

System Boilers
Like Conventional gas boilers, a system boiler can provide central heating and hot water from a cylinder if required. The major difference with a system gas boiler is that all the major parts such as the pump, safety valve and programmer are built into the boiler.

Conventional Boilers
This type of gas boiler has relatively simple controls, energy consumption can be high, but a conventional gas boiler is a versatile boiler and can be used in almost any type of property and can be pumped or gravity fed. In a conventional boiler gas jets play onto a cast iron heat exchanger through which water passes to be heated. If this is used to supply taps, hot water will need to be stored in a cylinder and can not be supplied on demand.
